Lately, there has been a fairly noticeable slowdown in EV sales, including an 8.5% year-over-year decline at Tesla this past quarter. While this might not seem detrimental for the world’s leading EV manufacturer, it poses a more significant challenge for other EV companies, who feel the ripple effects of this downturn.
One of those affected companies is Ford, which has recently decided to significantly slow down production of the F-150 Lightning, attributing the move to weakened demand. In an attempt to boost sales, Ford has also recently reduced the price of the F-150 Lightning, offering hefty discounts up to $5,500.
F-150 Lightning Trim | Discount |
XLT Standard Range | $2,000 |
Flash Extended Range | $5,500 |
Lariat Extended Range | $2,500 |
More recently, Ford dealerships have begun to roll out a new incentive called the “Tesla Competitive Conquest Bonus Cash.” This program provides a $1,500 discount on the F-150 Lightning or the Mustang Mach-E for any current owner or lessee of a Tesla vehicle from 2008 or newer.
For anyone who may be considering a Ford EV, now might be the perfect time to explore these options. The F-150 Lightning not only qualifies for the $7,500 EV tax credit but also allows buyers to bundle the additional discounts, making it an attractive option for those in the market for an extremely solid electric truck. However, it’s worth noting that the Mustang Mach-E is only eligible for the $1,500 Tesla discount and does not qualify for the $7,500 tax credit. Still, any discount can make a difference.
This promotional offer is available until July 8, 2024. If you’re interested, now is the time to act and potentially secure a great deal before these promotions expire.
