As many dedicated Tesla enthusiasts are aware, the company recently unveiled the newly refreshed Model 3, a move praised by many for its enhancements in build quality and the introduction of new features, all while maintaining its starting price of $38,990. Although this updated Model 3 has been available in China for several months now, it wasn’t until a couple of months ago that Tesla began accepting orders for the new Model 3 in the United States.
In recent weeks, a few fortunate customers have been able to take delivery of their new Model 3’s in the US. Personally, I’ve observed several refreshed Model 3’s, ready for delivery, at the Chattanooga Tesla Service Center. However, for many eager buyers, the estimated delivery times for their Model 3’s have been pushed back, with some facing delays until June. This could suggest that Tesla may be encountering challenges in swiftly shifting and ramping up production to meet demand, which appears to have exceeded the company’s initial expectations. Of course, at the time of writing, we have no way to officially confirm this.
Nonetheless, many would argue that the wait is worthwhile. For prospective customers eyeing a new Model 3, estimated wait times vary. The Standard Rear-Wheel Drive trim is projected to be available for delivery between March and April 2024, while for the All-Wheel Drive Long Range trim, the wait extends further, with delivery anticipated between May and June 2024.
For those unfamiliar with the updates introduced in the refreshed Tesla Model 3, here’s a rundown of the key changes. Starting in 2024, Tesla revamped the Model 3’s front, featuring new, sportier headlights and a more aerodynamic design, with the added benefit of an increase in range. The Long Range variant now boasts a 341-mile range, a slight boost from the already impressive 333 miles the old Model 3 shipped with.
Inside, the new Model 3 showcases a somewhat controversial stalk-less steering wheel, alongside a more responsive touchscreen with reduced bezels, ambient lighting, ventilated seats, and an upgraded sound system.
Undoubtedly, the Model 3 remains Tesla’s best value proposition in its lineup. We’re hopeful that Tesla will be able to quickly accelerate production, enabling more customers to get behind the wheel of their eagerly awaited vehicles.
